How Training Requirements Are Sent to Managers

Managers can receive training activities for a user if the user does not have access to a PC or if the manager is required to sign off on user training. When a user’s Manager Notification flag is set, if the user is assigned training activities, the manager will receive the activity. When the manager signs off on the user’s the training activity, a prompt displays, indicating the name of the user who received the training. The date and time of signoff will be recorded based on the location of the server and not the individual location of the PC.

To send training requirements to a manager for signoff:

  1. On the individual’s User Detail page, set the Manager Notification flag on the General  tab.
  2. Assign the user to a department in which the recipient of the activity is the desired manager.
  3. Verify that the manager has the flag set for E-Mail Notification with a valid e-mail address.
  4. Managers can also perform a group signoff by selecting the appropriate document and training activity type using the Search function under My Activities. (Refer to Manager Sign-Off on Training Activities)
NOTE: If an employee belongs to multiple departments and/or a department has multiple managers, the system will alphabetically choose the first department and then choose the first manager.
