Viewing and Editing Free-Use Field Name and Description

To view and then edit the name or description of a free-use field:

  • Click the Free Use Fields option under Setup on the Tools & Setup panel.

The Free Use Field List

  • Click the Free Use Fields option under Setup on the Tools & Setup  panel.

The Free Use Field List panel displays.

  1. Click the field’s name link.

The Free Use Field Detail – General page displays, showing the current name and description.

  1. To edit the name or description, click the Edit button.

The Free Use Field Detail – General page displays in edit mode, allowing for changes.

  1. Edit the name or description, then click the Save button to save your change.
NOTE: You can change the names of your free-use fields without affecting data that has been entered into the fields.
NOTE: All free-use fields will be included in the Document Search function. They are added to the bottom of the DOCUMENT ADD page. You will be able to enter information at the time you add a document to the system. If you need to change or to view the free-use information, you must select the FREE USE tab on the DOCUMENT DETAILS page.
CAUTION: Clicking the Delete button will delete the free-use field from the system. When you delete a free-use field, all data contained in the deleted free-use field for all documents will be deleted from the system.
