Reassigning or Canceling a Packet Connected to a Workflow

If a packet is attached to a workflow and the Add button is clicked unintentionally, the packet is created immediately and the next Packet ID number is assigned.

A couple of options are available and are listed below (in order of recommendation).

  • Keep the Packet open and use it when you are ready. The initial activity can be reassigned. Proper permission is required (see the note below).
  • Delete the packet and reset the next Packet ID number. Proper permission is required (see the note below).
  • Build a cancel function into the workflow. Refer to Creating a Workflow

To reassign the activity: 

    1. Click the Workflow icon next to the packet that was accidentally added.
    2. Click the Edit icon and select who you want to be the originator of the packet. The individual will receive an email and an activity to continue the Packet Workflow.
NOTE: You must have Admin rights to the Packet Location to access the pencil icon.

To reset the Packet ID: Under Form Design, click the Set Next Sequence Number link located at the bottom of the Form Group Detail General page.
