Uploading Incorrect Revision Documents

Revision documents can be uploaded incorrectly for a number of reasons:

  • Document was checked out for changes and checked in prior to saving latest changes.
  • Document changes were done outside the system.
  • User accidentally cancels checkout after making desired changes.

To upload the correct version of a revision document:

  1. Copy the correct revision document to another location other than the document edit path. (Refer to Adding Users for additional information about a user’s document edit path.)
  2. If you do not have an existing checkout activity, create one.
  3. Check out the document.
  4. Overwrite the checked-out document by saving the document and overwriting the checked-out document. Your system should prompt you for permissions to overwrite the checked-out document.

You can also use the Change Document Format/Re-Upload link to upload the new document without checking it out. This link is also used for unsupported WebDav documents.

  1. Verify that the document is correct by selecting the Edit icon.
  2. Check in the document.
NOTE: When using the Change Document Format/Re-Upload option and If using the Copy command for the document transfer method, and you do not want the system to invoke the JAVA applet, you must place the document into your checkout directory before browsing. If you browse to a directory other than your checkout directory, the system will try to invoke the JAVA applet.
