Change Control Terms

  • Change Order Document (Master Document). Filled out Change Order form with specific information regarding changes to the documents. This is a required field. The document can be any format and is checked out for changes along with the other document attached to the Change Order.
  • Change Order Packet. The entire Change Order, including all affected and referenced documents
  • Packet Documents. The specific documents attached to the Change Order Packet.
  • Parent Activity. Is the main activity which all individual documents are attached to. There is only one parent activity per change order. When users have finished reviewing/editing all child activities, they check the parent activity as complete. Upon completing the parent activity, all attached child activities are automatically marked as completed.
  • Child Activities. Activities created for the individual packet documents.
  • Routing. Documents are reviewed, approved, and published as a group in a Change Order.
  • Completed Change Orders. Change orders are considered completed when all documents attached to the Change Order have been moved to current.
  • Closed Change Orders. Change orders are considered closed after all post-implementation steps are complete and the close flag has been checked.
  • Move to Current. This is the action that is used to Publish the new version of the document.
  • Published. A term which designates the status of a document after it has been Moved to Current.
