Auto-Close Packet When Completed (Manual Forms)

Use the Auto-Close Packet When Completed checkbox to determine whether the final signature will close the packet.

With a manual form, you can select the individuals who are required to sign off on the form. If selecting more than one signer, the last signature will close the packet. Normally the last form of the packet will contain this type of signature.

When the user logs on by receiving an e-mail or by going directly to the form, they will see a signature icon next to the field description. The individuals that need to signoff will be listed on the form. As each user views the form, they are also allowed to sign off or send a comment to the sender of the activity. They can do this by selecting the Recipient Comment link. After the recipient enters a comment, an e-mail is sent to the sender of the form. The e-mail will contain the comment with a link directly to the form.

After selecting the signature icon, the user is prompted to enter a password if the activity has a defined user prompt. The text for the signature dialog box is defined in the activity attached to the signature field type. (For more information about setting up activity types, refer to Adding Activities).

After the user signs off, the system will date and time stamp the signoff entry. Incomplete signature activities will display in red.

Once the packet is closed, only individuals with administrator permissions to forms will be able to re-open the packet. For the administrator (of the location), the link Re-Open Packet will be included on the Packet Detail page.

NOTE: For workflow packets, only pages that have not been locked via a signature can be edited after opening.
