How Training Notifications Are Sent to Users

Based on individual permissions, training notifications are sent using the following methods:

TMS Notification Activities. Users access these activities by clicking the My Activities link in the TMS Main Menu side panel.

  • Training notifications and activities can be created when a document is Moved to Current.
NOTE: Selecting Send Training Notices from the training tab of the document invokes the same training notification page from the Move to Current function. This can be used if you accidentally cancel the training notification page during Move to Current.
  • Training notifications and activities can be created when running deviation reports.
  • Training notifications can be created when running a cycle notification report. (Read/Write permission to documents is required.)
  • Selecting Standalone Notification from the Main Menu side panel.
  • Running an automatic program for expired training can create training notifications and activities. Parameters are set up in Application Options.
  • Sending Training Notices from the Training tab on the Document Detail page. You must have read/write permissions to the documents for this feature to display.
  • Selecting Training Notification from the Main Menu side panel.

Email Notification. The email will contain a link to the TMS training activity. Upon clicking the link, if already logged into TMS, the Activities Detail page displays. If the user is not logged into TMS, they are prompted for a login name and password.

Training Deviation Reports. The Training Deviation Report lists users who require training on documents. Before running this report, you can specify which users in the report should be sent a notification activity and/or email for required training. For more information, refer to Training Notification Options for Training Deviation Reports.
